This site will be dedicated to the next nine months of my life that will be spent in York University's Teacher's College. I'll be learning how to teach grades 4 to 9 beginning August 30th, 2004...

My last day at work will be August 20th. I currently work for a non-profit that helps freelance writers with their businesses -- it's been fun and rewarding, but I'm definitely looking forward to being in school again. I can't believe I'm going to admit this, but I love back to school shopping! All those pens and spiral bound notebooks and file folders make me giddy! I'll admit it -- I'm organizational geek... give me a coupon to Grand and Toy and I'll be your friend forever.

Anyway, I decided to start this blog after visiting, in a round about way, "Jane's" site (http://umamitsunami.com/). My boyfriend passed along a website about Japan (http://www.links.net/vita/trip/japan/ -- an excellent place if you are thinking of visiting Japan. There's a wonderful photo of a Japanese toilet) and there is a link to this "Jane's" weblog. I don't know who the heck Jane is, but I find it interesting (and scary) how deeply you can get into a person's life by visiting a blog. I've visited Jane's site every day for a week now and I just can't wait until she writes another post. She is now seeing an accordion playing frenchman and is in an up and coming band in the states. She recently went to France and is now having trouble assimilating herself back in her own country. I could probably tell you a million other details about her life, but I'll let you read it, or not, for yourself. There's something so voyeuristic about this and other weblogs, except that it's sanctioned voyeurism. V. weird. I won't, dear reader, get in to as much detail as "Jane" does, but hopefully it will be as thrilling...!
